Monday Photos and Weekend Wrap-up

First...

This Monday's photos.

And the theme is...

Books.

Sound weird?
Just take a look at these pics:

Today's post is a little bit longer, however, because I feel this great need from deep within me to tell you all about my great weekend. :)

Friday:
My friend Lindsey and I decided to go to the Constantine vs. Schoolcraft football game. (Two smaller schools in our area.) We have some friends who march in the band, so we thought we'd go out and support them.
Constantine's school colors are red and white. I don't own any red (I think it's kind of ugly) so I had to show support for the team through my Falcon stamp (their mascot).

The march... was hilarious! Overall it was just average marching, but the percussion (what they're both in) did this HILARIOUS dance like twice during it. Like, I'm laughing out loud.

Saturday:
Lindsey spent the night, and we went to Grand Rapids to go shopping with my youth pastor's wife. We had a great time! It was nice to go to one of the bigger cities, and spend some time with both of them.

Here's a picture of the dressing room carpet at Delia's:
Exotic.

Lindsey ends up staying another night. Fine by me! But... I will say there was a shortage of sleep Saturday night. ;)

Sunday:
On Sunday, after church, we took her home. Major bummer, especially since she spent the whole weekend with me! I hate that feeling after someone leaves.
In other news though, my youth group went to a corn maze. We had a blast! It was so fun. And most definitely perfect fall weather. It was about 70 degrees. We were able to go through it in just a T-shirt! Awesome times. :)

Photo's a little blurry, but it was fun. :)

Spooky, no?

Dark outside. Pretty fall though. :)

How was your weekend or Monday?

Fill in the Blank Friday #8

Fill in the Blank Friday.

1. I am chill (usually :). Happy. Lover of all things French. Simple. A Christian. Excited for this weekend. :)

2. I wish I could go to Europe oh, so bad. I sometimes feel like I annoy people for talking about it all the time, but I guess it IS my blog. ;) Haha. But really, that is my ultimate dream.

3. I like France. Europe. The color gray. My sisters. Twitter. Creativity. Blog friends.

4. I can eat a lot of food. Haha. No joke, really. One of these days it's going to seriously catch up to me.

5. I hope one day I'll get married, have a lot of kids (or just a few, I'm a little undecided on that one), be able to travel all over the world a lot, and also live closer to my sisters.

6. I think people should consider the way they treat others. Especially high schoolers. I mean, um, hello? Do you hear how you talk to people? How rude you are? Seriously, treat others as you want to be treated. (I'm not saying I'm perfect but sheesh. You should hear some poeple.)

7. I was thinking that today was a pink-out at our school. It's a day wear everyone is supposed to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. So I wore my only pink clothing, a sweater, and find out that it's next Friday.

Today was weird.

Today was just weird. Funky. Abnormal.

5:07am: Wake to alarm. I always set it early, that way I can wake up slowly. My goal was to be awake by 5:45am. On a normal day, I wake up at about 6am.
(My actual alarm clock. Haha.)

6:02am: Alarm goes off again. Must have slept through it for an hour, ha.

8:50am: We have to stay in our first block class for another hour. The freshmen have to take the state-wide MEAP test, while the sophomores, juniors, and seniors have to write a persuasive essay. Topic? Should there be a curfew by law for middle and high school students. Gag me.

12:23pm: Eat a Blue Raspberry Warhead at lunch. Haven't had one of those since I was 8. There may have been watery eyes and laughing friends. (Okay... it was pretty funny.)

3:28pm: Try and take a nap on the bus. Feeling so weird. I never let myself fall asleep completely on the bus, but lay my head on my backpack and scarf for about half an hour. Someone pokes my shoe. Get up. Feel like I just woke up from a full-fledged nap.

4:30pm: Forgot I cooked a Hot Pocket 15 minutes before.

Ugh. How much weirder could this day get?
Probably not much.

I like fall.

I went to a little stand today with my my parents on our way to my aunt's birthday party. They had lots of cool things - apples, pumpkins, and Indian corn. Here are some pictures!

Homecoming is overrated.

Today was homecoming at my high school.

We had dress-up days all week (Monday - Senior Citizen Day, Tuesday - Duct Tape Day, Wednesday - Harry Potter Day, Thursday - Camouflage Day, Friday - Spirit Day), and it was kind of fun to see what everyone came up with. I have to say I liked Duct Tape Day best. There was about 4 or 5 kids I saw that had made entire suits out of duct tape! How cool! Then other people had duct taped glasses, belts, shirts, dresses, and more. It was definitely pretty rad. Other than that, I'd have to say that everything else is just so overrated. Homecoming, dress up days, pep rallies, and all that jazz. Or maybe it's just me. One word that would not describe me is 'outgoing', so that could possibly be part of the problem as well. We had a 2 hour pep rally today. After about an hour and 45 minutes, I kind of got into it.

What about you? Do you like homecoming?

Fill in the Blank Friday #7

1. Blogging is something fun I have recently discovered. I love meeting new people, and letting some of this hot air out.
2. A current fashion trend that I was brave enough to wear is hah, yeah right. I stick with basics. Jeans, plain t-shirts, hoddies.
3. My greatest accomplishment in life thus far is completing the 9th grade? Haha. But by June I know it will be completing the 10th grade, because this year really ain't the greatest.
4. If I had to choose between a mountain vacation and a beach vacation I'd choose beach. I love the weather, the sand, the water... I'd probably even take up surfing. ;)
5. A talent I wish I had is sports. I'm really unathletic, and in my high school those are basically the only extracurricular activities.
6. A talent I do have is Take me in to any home I've never been to before, and 9 times out of 10 I can tell you where the silverware drawer is.
7. This week was Homecoming week. I'm not a fan really. (I'm a sophomore, but I'm already SO over high school.)

Just TOMS.

I only own 2 pairs of TOMS Shoes, but I am most definitely interested in getting a new pair soon.

And incase you don't know anything about TOMS, they're a company that was founded on one simple principal: For every pair of shoes they sell, they will donate one pair to a child in need.
I'm sold!

Here are some of the pairs I've been eying for quite some time...

Monday - October 11.

This Monday's picture theme IS...
Autumn.

My favorite season used to be summer, but now I'm wondering if it's becoming fall.
The cooler weather, the leaves changing colors, and how it's always the perfect time to take a walk.

I am me.

Some people really annoy me. I've noticed it more lately, and I've been trying to figure out why this is. It could be because I'm jealous. Of what? I'm not sure. I feel like even though I know I have everything I need, and a lot of what I want, that they have more. Which, it is ridiculous that I would feel that way. I don't understand why I do.
Maybe they have more friends than me. Maybe they have a better relationship with Jesus than I do. Maybe they get better grades than I do. Maybe they have more of a life than I do. Maybe they have hobbies they love and I don't. Maybe they always have plans with friends and I don't. Maybe they have bigger dreams than I do. Maybe they have a map of their life planned out and I don't. Maybe I feel like they know who they are, and I don't. Maybe they have hobbies they love and I don't.
It could be anything. But I need to start realizing that how I feel shouldn't depend on what others do or don't do. I'm me, and I can't change that.

Fill in the Blank Friday #6

Fill in the blank Friday.

1. The first thing I do in the morning to start my day is hit snooze. Haha. Really though... take a shower.
2. Today I wish I was skipping school to go to Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids. Or even sleep. Oh well.
3. If I had an extra $100 dollars in my bank account today I'd go shopping. Go see a movie. Go pick apples.
4. Tomorrow I'm going to see The Social Network with a few friends. Fun!
5. Two things that don't go together are me and stress. Doesn't happen to often, but I hate when it does. Although it does make me more productive.
6. Something I can never pass up at the grocery store is junk food. I like a lot of vegetables and fruits, but I always try to convince my parents to let me get that candy. ;)
7. The last time I tried something new was evidently, too long ago since I can't remember when it was!

Monday.

Happy Monday.

This Monday's picture theme is:
Europe: In Black & White

I just think black and white pictures, especially of Europe, are so amazing.
They always make me smile, and can most definitely make my Monday a little bit better.
