Depression. (More like mild sadness)

Leaving Tennessee every time I visit gives me a little bout of depression.

We are in Arkansas now. Don't get me wrong, it's great to see the family that lives here, but I feel like my heart is always back in Nashville. There's nothing I love more than staying with my sister and brother-in-law, even through all their barfy newlywed-ness.

(Aren't they cute?) :)

They are the funniest people I know, and some of the greatest as well.
There's nothing I can think of better than staying with them. 2010 was actually a great year as far as going to Tennessee, with a whopping 3 times. That's definitely a record. 2 is the norm.

Let's keep our fingers crossed though, that my parents will let me come down for spring break. :D

In other news... I will be ringing in the new year at a youth group lock-in. My parents are dropping me off straight after our road trip. We won't even stop at home. It's gonna be a long rest of the week, folks.

Here's a couple more photos I want to share taken by my new camera:

Vacation schmacation.

I love visiting my family here in Tennessee.
In case you didn't know, my two sisters and their husbands live here, including one nephew of mine.
I typically get to see them about 2 times a year (or 3 if I'm lucky, like this year). It's so sad, because I love seeing them so much!
This year, I have to say that this trip hasn't quite lived up to all of the hype I have gave it.

My sister, A, got sick the day after Christmas. She barely left my other sister, N's, house before she threw up. (Gross... i know.)
Good news though, she feels a lot better now. My parents and I are going to spend the day with her. We're gonna go to Franklin, and do a little shopping there. A works there, so she knows a lot about it.

Hope everyone's holidays are going a little bit better than mine. :)

Merry Christmas to all - and a snowy one at that!

Merry Christmas everyone!

In my family (which consists of me, mom, and dad) we opened up presents yesterday.
I got a camera!
It's obviously just a point-and-shoot camera, which is what I want and needed. The main thing I wanted in a camera was high megapixels - and it has a whoppin' 14.

joy.

Here are some of the first photos I've taken with it:

We left at 7am this morning, and got to Tennessee not too long ago. These are photos of my nephew, O. Ain't he cute?!

Well, I'm gonna go chill with family for a couple of days. Post if I get a chance. :)

Have a great holiday season!

Eh.

I'm feeling rather teenage-ish today.

Stayed up too late last night at a friends house, didn't get enough sleep.

Good news though: I just got back from shopping with my dad, and I got the cutest scarf at Charlotte Russe.
(I'm obsessed with scarves as of late.)

Oh, and I'm pretty ecstatic because I found the perfect gift for my brother-in-law, Josh. A record of one of Muse's albums. Him and my sister have a record player, and he loves Muse.
Awesome idea, right? Thanks F.Y.E!
Just 3 days until I get to see my family in Tennessee!

Hope everyone's Christmasing is going great!

Vintage (I think).

Guess what Brittney just bought?

A camera.

(Please excuse crappy quality of photo. Taken with my phone.)

Yep, it's a Polaroid Land Camera, Colorpack 2, got about 10 names...
I really don't know anything about it. But I had to buy it, considering I got it for $2.25 at Goodwill. (I feel so out of my aura there. But my sister loves it.)

Even if it doesn't work at all, I would have bought it.

Anyway, I figured out what type of film it uses, and just bought some on eBay.
If anyone knows anything about this camera, please let me know?

Thanks!

Wish List!

Here are some things that I really want for Christmas.
(Yep, this is 'bout to be a very selfish post)
Silver Morocco TOMS.

These exact jeans from A&F.

Some white lights that I can hang in my room.

Frank Sinatra's Greatest Hits

An iPod dock

What about you? What are you hoping will be under the tree on Christmas day?

Fill in the Blank Friday #11

Happy Friday, everyone!

This Friday is especially special. Because why? Today was our last day of school until January 3rd! And we had a half day. :) Let the Christmasing begin!

But first, some blanks.
1. Giving is a lot more fun as I get older. It's fun to think up things that you know someone will love. Something that takes a lot of thought.
2. Receiving is I'm not gonna lie... fun. ;)
3. The best gift I ever received was my computer.
4. The best gift I ever gave was ...call me back in a week.
5. Something intangible that I wish I could receive is
6. Something intangible that I wish I could give is self-respect. I hate when I see people get pushed around and stepped on over and over again by the same people.
7. The one gift I always wanted as I child, but never got was I think a Barbie Dream House - or something to that effect.

Monday - December 13

Happy Monday!

Sorry I haven't posted any Monday photos in a while.
This week's theme, though, will be:

Happiness
(pretty pictures.)

All photos via We heart it.

Guess what's special about THIS Monday though?
No school! :D
God decided last night to dump buckets of snow on us.
I hate snow, but I love it when I get off school for it. :)
I slept for 12 hours last night. Would have been 7 if it weren't for the snow day.
Only down side is I have an orthodontist appointment today. But, this should be my second-to-last appointment before I get them off!

Hope your Monday is as good as mine!

Just a rant and some other fun stuff.

Am I the only one that hates buying things from Forever 21?
In magazines, online, and in person all anyone ever talks about as far as cute clothes go, is how much they LOVE F21 and how it's so cute and so cheap.
Yes, they're cute. And yes, they're cheap.
But everything FALLS APART the first time you wash it! What's the point in even buying the darn things if they don't last?
I bought a plain, longsleeved red t-shirt there a couple months ago, for like $7. Don't know what I was thinking. When I got home and ripped the price tag off, the tag that says the size came right off with it. Not that big of a deal, but that sort of just screams 'low quality' right there. And now it's starting to get a little hole in it towards the top. Not a big deal for now, but I know in about 5 washes I won't be able to wear it anymore.

ANYWAY.

On another note. I just got back from the family Christmas party I mentioned in my blanks yesterday. It was so fun! I played Apples to Apples with about half the family, and it was the first time I've ever played it. (Weird, right?) That game is sweet! Too bad my family consists of only 3 people, total. Right? Haha. Guess we'll have to save it for family get-togethers!

In other OTHER news...

How cute's this scarf from Gap? I'm not a fan of orange or red (which, this scarf seems to be an odd mix of them both), but I want this. Unfortunately, at just under $30, it's a little too rich for my (teenager-with-no-job) blood.

Hope everyone's having a fabulous weekend. :)

Fill in the Blank Friday.

Happy Friday!

(How cute is that picture?) :)

1. I wish I could take a year-long trip around the world. How amazing that would be. There's just so many places I want to see - and soon!
2. Yesterday I got through the day. Eh. I'm not so much for school. But, I got a couple hours of time alone at home; that was nice. I read a little, did some homework, and even cleaned up the house a bit.
3. Today I will be going out to eat with family, and then who knows what else. School's over for today, but I'm hoping to get a little reading in.
4. Tomorrow I will be at my cousin's house in Detroit for a family Christmas party! We do one every year, and I'm kind of excited for this one. Although, my mom's side of the family is a little high-strung, so... wish us luck. Dad can't go because he has to work overtime. Sad face. :(
5. Maybe I can get all A's by the end of the semester. It's not looking too hot right now. :( Wish me luck! :)
6. Someday I'll be married. (I hope! One of my fears is never marrying... and boy, I want to be married! ha!)
7. I love thinking about going to France someday. Twitter. Good friends. Christmas. Nashville. Dark wash jeans. The Eiffel Tower. My sisters, family.

Guess what?

school sucks.

{via}

Sad, but true.
I have no idea how some people can say that high school was the best 4 years of their life. Try 4 years of hell.
I'm not unpopular or anything, I'm purely average. Middle of the totem pole. I'm social at school, try to make plans most weekends, and am outgoing when I'm comfortable with it.
It's not like I'm a freak of anything. Really, I'm not. I have friends, a large group of people to sit with at lunch.
But that's really not the way things are. I don't have one, single best friend. I don't have one person that I could tell everything to that goes to my school.
I've got my 25 year old sister, who lives 500 miles away. We talk a lot, and she really understands what I'm going through.
It's not like I'm depressed or anything folks, don't freak out. Lol. I'm just wishing I had a best friend who was my age.
You know?

Oh, and it really doesn't make me feel any better knowing I've got a full, 5-day week ahead of me.

Oh well.
Just 2 and a half more years.
And in just a few weeks, I'll be in Nashville chilling with my sisters. :)

Fill in the Blank Friday #10

1. Black Friday is 'controlled chaos'. Can be fun, but things can get out of hand as well.
2. Christmas shopping this year will include going to different bigger towns in our area with my parents. This year we decided to buy our family actual gifts, not gift cards like we've done the past few years. It's loads of fun, plus I get to go shopping! :)
3. Holiday shopping makes me happy. Shopping is fun. I am a fan. Sometimes it's hard for me to buy for other people, and not myself, so I think it's good for me.
4. This year my Christmas list will include gray Converse, a camera, pajama pants (haha), and Navy TOMS.
5. Bargain hunter, or full price shopper? Bargain hunter. I will occasionally buy something full price, but most of the time I just can't see buying something that is not on clearance, because things there are just as good and cost a whole lot less.
6. The best and worse things about shopping is getting the 'fix' of being in the mall (does anyone else get this? My dad thinks I'm weird. Ha.), and the downside is getting tired after only so many hours.
7. Online shopper or in-person shopper? Both! Michigan is definitely not Paris as far as clothes go, so we get soo much more selection just shopping online.

Hope everyone finds lots of great deals this Black Friday!

I had to be like everyone else... here's a post about Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, friends!
As I sit here at home, alone, I thought I'd share this poem I found on Meg's blog.

Thanksgiving Day Wishes

T’was the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned,
The dark meat and white.
But I fought the temptation,
With all of my might.
Tossing and turning,
with anticipation.

The thought of a snack
became infatuation.
So I raced to the kitchen,
Flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge,
Full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey,
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling,
So plump and so round.
‘til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,
Floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding,
And a handful of pie.

But I managed to yell
As I soared past the trees
Happy eating to all,
Pass the cranberries, please!!

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.

May your yams be delicious,
May your pies take the prize
And May your Thanksgiving dinner...
Stay off of your thighs!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Black Friday!
I know I will.

Peace out!

Gobble. Gobble.

Earrings Galore.

Since I just got my ears repierced, I can't stop looking at earrings online.
I can't wait until my 6 weeks of keeping these studs in are up!

Here are some lovely photos of earrings I've found:

3rd time's a charm, they say.

Guess what?
I just got my ears repierced!
(for the third time.)

The lady at Claire's was kind of funny though.
She's put the little dots on my ear, to know where to shoot the earring through, and then she takes the gun and tells me, "I'm just going to line it up." So, alright. Whatever. Then she PIERCES my ear! I wasn't even ready! I wasn't even holding my mom's hand!

She lied.

But at least I can finally wear these cute earrings I bought at Mall of America last summer. ;)

Question for you.

Hey folks!
I've got a question for you all. (Hence the title.)

I know that I only update my blog usually twice a week - Mondays and Fridays.
I guess I feel like, if I were to write about just my life and day-to-day happenings, that it would be boring. :(

So, the question is...
What do you blog about when you can't think of anything?
Also...
Would you find posts just about school and my weekend plans boring?

Thanks so much! :)

Have a great weekend!

Fill in the Blank Friday #9

Fill in the Blank Friday.

1. The most spontaneous thing I've ever done is wow, wish I had an answer for this one. I really am not too spontaneous. :(
2. The best gift I've ever received was laughter. :) Sounds silly, but I can't imagine what my life would be like without it.
3. A time that I was truly and genuinely surprised was when my sister, Ashley got engaged. She had told my mom and dad, but they for some reason hadn't told me yet. I found out on Twitter!
4. I can't leave the house without my cell phone, and usually iPod.
5. My favorite day of the week is Saturday because I love how open it is. You can do whatever you want. I wish there were more days just like it!
6. Something that can always make me laugh is my friend Dylan. No joke, he is seriously one of the most funny people I have EVER met.
7. My perfect day would include hanging out with my friends. We'd go watch movies at someone's house, eat good food, and just chill. It's the little things. ;)

In other news, my weekend was
amazing
once again. Let me share. :)

Friday: I come home from school to see my aunt and step uncle here. That was a nice surprise to start the weekend. :)

Saturday: This is where it gets good. I was SO incredibly busy Saturday. My dad took my friend Lindsey and I to the football playoff game. That was fun. Then I go and LOSE my brand new phone! Whoops. Mistake. We go searching around the entire football stadium for a good 20 minutes. Give up. End up talking to someone at the concession stand, and they take us up to the press box to see if someone had turned it in. I immediately see it sitting on the desk. The lady sitting there questioned me. I can understand that, to a degree, but she seriously thought I was like lying or something. Ha. Anyway, we go buy hot dogs and can finally enjoy the rest of the game.

After the game, my friends Dylan and Tim meet up with us, and we go to my church for this big, annual Halloween party they throw. Basically kids come, they play a game, and then you hand them candy. Lucky for Dylan, Tim, and I... we all got games that had three little balls, and when the kids missed whatever they were aiming for (every time), then you had to bend over and pick the balls up. So, long story short, we all were bending over for 2 hours straight.
We had such a great time though! It was so much fun.
Saturday = Success.

Sunday: Sore from Saturday, I go to church and that's about it until 5:30. I end up going to my friends youth group (we carved pumpkins!), and Dylan, Tim, Lindsey and myself all go mini-golfing right afterwards. How fun! We all stopped playing after about the 9th hole. Have you ever completely finished a game of mini golf? I know I haven't. We get goofy halfway through and then just mess around.

How was your weekend?
